Reconnect, Recharge and Reunite! Alumni Weekend has once again come together with Rutgers Day to offer more opportunities to celebrate your Rutgers connections. On Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, reunite with your classmates and Rutgers family at a series of events presented by the Rutgers University Alumni Association. The GSE and GSEAA will be planning exciting and fun events to celebrate this special weekend. Join us to meet old friends, build new relationships, and share your Rutgers pride.
Since 2002, the Graduate School of Education Alumni Association has had the time-honored practice of inviting distinguished members of the GSE faculty to share their research, findings, and learning with an audience of colleagues, students, and alumni. This year the GSEAA will host a panel featuring three distinguished faculty members who are engaged in thought-provoking research around the theme of Social Justice. The theme will have broad appeal to all who are searching for strategies and new thinking regarding the concept of fair, just and inclusive relations between students of all ages. The research will touch upon such sub-topics as restorative practices and forgiveness; civics and citizenship; social activism; and identity of self and others (underlying biases). We believe that these topics will transcend groups, age, career pathway, and ethnic/cultural difference, and will have broad appeal to future and current alumni and practitioners.
Put the date of March 11th on your calendar and look forward to an interactive exchange around a relevant and interconnected body of topical and current research.
